Kome Eatery
Docklands is not where most people go looking for a good Japanese brunch, which is part of what makes Kome Eatery worth knowing about. The room is bright and open, the service is friendly without hovering, and the menu runs from onigiri and katsu sandos to rice bowls and teishoku sets, with coffee, matcha, sake and highballs alongside. The Wagyu & Co rice bowl is rich but balanced, and the chicken katsu sando is crisp with a properly seasoned crumb. The dish that stays with you is the unagi katsu, deep-fried eel at $35, which I have not seen on another menu in this city. Prices sit slightly above average for brunch, and the cooking earns it.
